Heart beating, cells breathing, neurons speaking, emotions emoting...

Can you hear it?

Can you feel it?

The pulse of life that has always been living through you, as you?

The thinking mind goes where it wants.

It time-travels and writes elaborate stories and repeats habitual patterns.

And it gets especially creative when it doesn't want to feel stuff.

But the body is always present.

The body is calling us home.

The body is inviting us to live in full color.

Hi, I’m Tess.

I'm here to hold space for you to arrive—

In wholeness.
In bodyfulness.
In authenticity.
In the movement of life that you are.

I was raised by the wise rocks and generous rivers of Boulder, Colorado, USA. My grandmother, a practical mystic and scholar of religion, first pointed me down the path of yoga and spirituality. Years later, body collapsed over textbooks at the London School of Economics, somatic rebellion led me back to yogic practice in search of relief from chronic pain and anxiety. I began practicing every form of yoga I could find in London and completed my first teacher training in the US in 2017. My body has been my guide and truth-teller ever since.

My experience of body-mind healing through yoga led me to study movement science and the miraculous microcosm of the inner landscape. In graduate school I filled my frontal lobe with bodily blueprints and biomarkers of well-meditated minds, hoping to grasp the mysteries of somatic intelligence. But the fluorescent lights of academia didn’t shine on many of the questions I had, so I turned to ancient traditions that inquired into body, mind, and consciousness through direct experience. These wanderings took me to India, Nepal, and Indonesia, where I spent two years exploring holistic systems of healing and embodied liberation. Since 2022, I have been immersed in Authentic Flow Yoga & Somatics School and the Body-Mind Centering (BMC) method. My work (and life) has been deeply touched by my teachers, Satu Tuomela, Evy Ferrero, and Anja Bergh.

My offerings are always a co-creation with the body-mind-hearts they are shared with. My intention is to show up all-the-way human and I hope you will come as you are, too. Sound is at the heart of my offerings - I love to sing with my harmonium and make a playlist that feels like a story. I play with words and rhythm because I believe the body prefers poetry to prose. I have steeped in over 3,000 hours of study in yoga, movement, and meditation, and hold certifications in Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Somatic Yoga, Myofascial Release, Classical Non-dual Tantrik Yoga, Sound Therapy, Authentic Flow, Somatic Ecstatic Dance, Shake the Dust, and Embodied Yin. I currently teach classes in Yoga and Somatic Movement and facilitate teacher trainings. I also hold 1:1 multi-modality movement sessions online and in person. My classes are embodied, trauma-informed, nature-based, and from the Heart.

“I see the body as being like sand. It’s difficult to study the wind, but if you watch the way sand patterns form and disappear and re-emerge, then you can follow the pattern of the wind or, in this case, the mind.”
